24 October 2001 - Divsion 5 Bowling Award

Bill Chambers has won the Division 5 Bowling Averages with an average of 7.51. He will be presented with his trophy at the league dinner on November 16th at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate. The Club has also picked up the Ground Award in Division 2.

17 October 2001 - AGM Date Confirmed

The Annual General meeting will take place on Monday 29th October at 8.00 pm in St Leonards Hall, Burton Leonard. Any apologies can be made here

26 September 2001 - Race Night

The club is holding a race night on Saturday 13th October in the Village Hall, Burton Leonard. Tickets are priced £5 (including supper) and the evening's entertainment starts at 7.30 p.m.

10 September 2001 - Unbeaten Runs End

18 August 2001 - Both teams continue their good runs

The 1st XI made it eight wins out of eight with a five wicket win against Dacre Banks whilst the 2nd XI extended their unbeaten run to seven by thrashing Marton-cum-Grafton by 117 runs. [Dacre Banks][Marton-cum-Grafton]

29 July 2001 - Burton make it five on the trot

14 July 2001 - Both teams continue good form

30 June 2001 - 1st XI back on track

11 June 2001 - Double joy for Burton

The 1st XI got back to winning ways with victories against Galphay & Winksley in the league, and Lofthouse & Middlesmoor in the Atkinson/Swires Cup. Added a list of the all time averages. Currently the 1st XI archives go back as far as 1981, and the 2nd XI now goes back to 1984. Both lists will be automatically updated as more games are put on the database. Earlier years will be added towards the end of the year. [View Records]

2 June 2001 - 1st XI go down at Dacre, 2nd XI march on

The 1st XI lost to Dacre Banks by 5 wickets on saturday whilst the 2nd XI comfortbaly beat Marton-Cum-Grafton in a game reduced to 36 overs [1st XI Scorecard][2nd XI Scorecard]

The A team had an exciting win on Wednesday evening by the narrowest of margins. Chasing 200 to win, Newby Hall A collapsed from 179-3 to 195 all out, Karl Jancowicz doing the damage taking 4-27.[Scorecard]

The Evening League A team lost to Spofforth by 7 wickets on wednesday night in the Harrogate Evening League [Scorecard]

14 May 2001 - Comfortable Atkinson Cup win

The Evening League A team had a convincing win against Arthington on monday night in the first round of the Atkinson Cup. In a match reduced to 12 overs per side because of the weather, Toby Drummond (50 no) made sure there were no hiccups chasing 83 for victory. [Scorecard]

13 May 2001 - Burton miss out on Lords

Burton Leonard were knocked out of the second round of the Wadworth 6X Village KO by Sheriff Hutton Bridge losing by 7 wickets [Scorecard]

The Evening League B team lost to Knaresborough Forest on Monday evening in the MMP Cup, as the visitors scraped home by one wicket [Scorecard]

1 April 2001 - Village Knockout

We have drawn Bolton Percy at home on April 29th in the 1st round of the Wadworth 6X Village Knockout. The winners will play either Knaresborough Forest or Sheriff Hutton Bridge in the next round on 13th May.

25 March 2001 - Captains Meeting

There will be a Nidderdale League Captains meeting on Friday April 6th at Studley Royal CC. All club groundsmen and captains are asked to attend.

1 March 2001 - Welcome

The new look Burton Leonard Cricket Club Website is nearing completion. All the Nidderdale Cricket results form the past two seasons have been archived to the database and we will be adding more soon as well as tables.

The site should be a lot quicker as our hosts have upgraded their servers, and all the HTML has been optimised over the last couple of months.

1 February 2001 - Fixtures

All the league and most of the knockout fixtures are now on the site. Although the Evening B team finished bottom of division 7, they now find themselves in division 6 due the resignation of a number of B teams from the league

2 January 2001 - Golf Day

This will take place in the New Year, when the weather improves and the courses dry out!
