Club Minutes for the AGM held on Tuesday 31 October 2000

Matters Arising: Rabbits still a problem !!
Secretary’s Report: The Secretaries reported that all sides had remained in the divisions and the 1st XI were 6th with 66 points and the 2ndXI were 5th with 66 points. Notable scores in the first team were M Crawshaw 122, M Stansfield 97 and C Eustace 89. In the second team, N Burtwistle and A Wigby continue to score heavily and M Jeeps won the bowling, an encouraging result for the younger end of the club.Special mention was made to B Drummond for winning the ground award for the 1st Team. He actually won it for the 2nd Team but for some reason, the League will not award two trophies. MC congratulated Ben and thanked him on behalf of the entire Club.
Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer reported a £370 surplus this year with the Race Night making a profit of £875. Other expenditure was well controlled and the Club has a small surplus in the bank. The Treasurer and Auditor were thanked for their continued excellent contribution to the financial matters of the club.

Junior Report: N Burtwistle reported that the U15 won 50% of their games and that 2 players played in the Nidderdale Lord Taveners fixture and that 3 played for the 2nd XI. Neil also stated his wish to retire from coaching after 9 years. MC thanked Neil on behalf of the club. E Challis coached the U13 and they also won 50% of their games and had 1 player play for the 2nd XI. A Parker coached the U11 and they finished second in their League. As a result of the discussion that followed, the following action was agreed:
ACTION: All Club Members would look out for a possible Coach for the U15, as well as support from the Club and possible players
ACTION: Andy Parker would ask Evan Challis if he would like to be a guest of the Club at the Dinner Dance.
The chairman thanked Neil, Andy Parker and his team for his hard work & effort running the junior teams. CARRIED
Election of Officers: The nomination of Robin Drummond to the position of President was unanimously approved. MC to write to Robin Drummond. In addition, Chris Stansfield was elected to the post of Chairman. MC thanked Alan Wigby for his excellent service to the Club. The V-Presidents were re-elected on bloc. The Treasurer, Auditor & Groundsman, Sportsfield Trust Representatives and Joint Secretaries all agreed to continue in their posts. CARRIED

Competitions: After a discussion about our inclusion in the Village Knockout, it was agreed that the club continue with all current competitions with the exception of the Ripon Knockout. It was agreed that the ex U15 players should be kept together if possible as a unit to play for the Evening B team.

Sponsorship& Fund Raising: It was proposed that a Race-Night to be held in September 2001. Sponsorship was up £75 to £800. W Wigglesworth offered to run a Fur and Feather Whist Night in early December and would talk to various members for assistance.
Subscriptions & Match Fees: There was a lively discussion and several proposals made and then withdrawn to leave one proposal, which was agreed by all members.
Subscriptions: £25 for Seniors. £10 for Students and Evening League with a qualification for fees of 3 games. No Change.
Match Fees: It was agreed to raise these to £3 for Seniors and that the Cricket Club would pay for the Scorers for both teams. The fees would remain unchanged for the Evening League at £1.00 for Seniors and 50p for Juniors.

Wicket Maintenance: The wicket has been top dressed and seeded in September. It would be fed and moss killer put down in the winter. The Sports Trust bought a sprayer for the outfield, which has been very helpful, and were going to spend £400 on a new cutting cylinder/bottom blade for the outfield mower.
Annual Dinner Dance: M Crawshaw informed the meeting that the dinner would be held at the Rose Manor Hotel, Boroughbridge on Friday 8th December 2000 with tickets priced £22 & that raffle prizes and help in selling tickets would be appreciated.
AOB: A Parker bought up the issue about club strengthening and it was agreed that M Stansfield would ring James Crawfurd-Porter, Nigel Pennock and Karl Jankowich.
K Horner offered to make fences for the hedge to prevent lost balls
K Horner also offered to do a fundraising disco at the Village Hall at the end of June 2001 to raise funds for the Club.
With no other business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 10.15 p.m.
