Chairman’s Report: Welcome and introduction

Matters Arising: A question was raised about child protection and that Chris Sladen and Mike Crawshaw need to get accreditation. Chris Stansfield is already accredited.
The 70’s fundraising disco didn’t take place due to a clash of dates.

Minutes: Approved and signed.

Secretary’s Report: All teams retained their status. Benny Drummond was awarded the ground award again and was again congratulated on the high quality of the ground and square. The junior players continue to develop well.
There was concern expressed as the late payment of some fees.

Treasurers Report: Benny reported that the Club had made a profit of £500 but the club was dependent on a fundraising event to keep balancing the accounts. Thanks were made to Benny Drummond and to Neil Burtwistle for auditing the accounts.

Junior Reports: The U17’s Team played in the cup semi final against Bilton. Ben Challis and Dan Thirkell played for the Joe Lumb side and Evan Challis ended 6 years of coaching Burton Leonard junior sides.

The U15’s finished second in the league winning 9 and ,losing 2 games. Harrogate won the league undefeated but Burton Leonard and Harrogate were clearly the best two sides in the league. We lost in the cup final to Harrogate. Many of the juniors are playing for the adult teams and on a number of occasions we would have struggled to put sides out without their availability. A number of opposition coaches were complimentary about the attitude and team spirit which came across form the side. Recognition should go to Ali Wilson who played for the first team and was also selected for the league side and was a key player for them

This year we entered an U9 side for the first time in the junior league. We were in a group with Knaresborough, Studley, Pannal and Cundall Manor and won 4 out of 8 matches. Skills are developing well and the lads are really into the game. In the summer, we took 17 juniors to Headingley for the 20:20 game. This winter we have entered an U11 team for the league indoor. Next summer, we plan to run U9 and U11 teams.
